About Us

Pleasant View can trace its roots to September of 1951 when Evangelist Harrington held an old-fashioned Tent Revival just a few hundred feet down the road from where our Church Auditorium now sits.  Rev. Harrington, along with five other preachers felt God’s burden and call to establish a Bible believing, Gospel Preaching Baptist Church here in the Eden area.  One of those men, Frank Hopkins, was a young man that was a member of Clear View Baptist Church located in Mayodan.  Clear View commissioned Bro. Frank Hopkins to pioneer the establishment of a Baptist Church in Eden and from that the Pleasant View Baptist Church was born.  The Church was established and Bro. Frank accepted the Pastorate in September of 1952 with only three charter members.  There may not have been many people, but Bro. Frank Hopkins had a love for God, a burden for souls, and a vision for an Independent Baptist Church that preached and taught the Bible and loved people.  Bro. Frank Hopkins served as Pastor until his death in 1975.  During that time the little church that started in an old basement with three members had built a Church building and a Fellowship Building.  

Pleasant View Baptist is now a thriving Church that emphasizes the Preaching and Teaching of God’s Word.  Our greatest desire is to see people come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior as well as to see them grow as Disciples through the Word of God.  We have Phenomenal programs for our Children and Teens as well as activities for all ages, including adults.
